Refunds &
cancellation.
Statutory rights preserved. How trials, subscriptions and chargebacks are handled.

This page explains cancellation and refunds for Monolith Corp hosting and billing. It sits alongside the Terms of Service.
1. Consumer statutory rights
If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under UK law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015) are preserved. This page does not take away rights that cannot be excluded.
2. Digital services and the 14-day cooling-off period
Hosting and related digital services often start immediately after purchase or provisioning. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, the usual 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts can be lost for digital content or services once performance begins, if you gave express consent to begin during the cooling-off period and acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel once the service started (or once digital content was supplied).
At checkout we ask you to confirm that service may start straight away. If those conditions apply, you may not have a 14-day cancel-for-any-reason right after the server is provisioned. If those conditions were not met, your cooling-off rights may still apply—open a ticket and we will assess in good faith.
3. How to cancel
Cancel subscriptions and services through the billing portal at https://billing.monolith-corp.org (Paymenter). Use logged-in tickets there if the UI is unclear or something fails. Cancelling stops future renewals according to the product’s billing cycle; it does not always create an automatic pro-rata refund for time already paid.
4. Subscriptions and PAYG
- Subscriptions — cancel before the next renewal to avoid the next charge. Access usually continues until the end of the paid period unless the product says otherwise.
- Pay-as-you-go / one-off — charged as shown at purchase; ongoing use depends on the product configuration in billing.
5. Trials (including TRYMONOLITH)
Where a trial is offered—such as TRYMONOLITH (1-day free with a card on file via billing)—you can cancel during the trial window according to the trial terms shown at signup so that paid billing does not start. Using the trial and then disputing a legitimate post-trial charge as a way to obtain free hosting is not acceptable.
Trials may require a valid payment method. If you do not cancel in time, normal paid terms and this refunds page apply.
6. When we refund
Discretionary refunds: we only consider goodwill / change-of-mind style refunds after the paid service has been running for at least 3 days from first provisioning (or from the start of the paid period after a trial). Requests made before that 3-day mark are normally declined, except where the cases below apply.
We still refund or remedy promptly (without waiting 3 days) where:
- We failed to provide the service as described in a material way and cannot fix it in a reasonable time
- A duplicate charge or clear billing error occurred
- Statutory rights require a remedy
We may refuse discretionary refunds where the service was used extensively, AUP was breached, or cancellation was simply a change of mind after an immediately started digital service where cooling-off was validly waived—even after the 3-day mark.
Request refunds via a billing ticket with invoice ID, service start date and reason.
7. Chargebacks
Contact us via a billing ticket before filing a chargeback. Unwarranted chargebacks after consuming hosting may lead to account suspension and collection of amounts owed. Legitimate payment disputes should still be raised with us first so we can help.
Use a billing ticket.
